These things irk me when I notice them in other people’s writing…
- Run-on sentences
- Poor grammar
- Spelling mistakes
- Embarrassing typo’s
- Not understanding target audience
- Wordy beyond belief
- No tact at all
- Lack of “fact” checking
- Using too much “SAT” vocabulary
- Getting off topic
A prior manager and mentor once told me that even when you type something as simple as an email to one or more individuals at work, always make sure your text is business professional, take the time to edit, then read it back to yourself before hitting “SEND”.
I live by her philosophy.
